Judith Barsi, the little girl who voiced “Ducky” in The Land Before Time and “Anne-Marie” in All Dogs Go to Heaven, was murdered by her alcoholic father with a fatal gunshot to the head as she slept in her bed, only 10 years old. Her father then shot her mother and before turning the gun on himself, doused the corpses in gasoline and set them ablaze in the cellar. Judith experienced a history of abuse from her father during her short life, but people who have worked with her remember her for her genuinely kind and bubbly disposition. She and her mothers’ remains are buried in LA’s Forest Lawn Memorial Park, where to this day fans still leave stuffed animals, notes, and poems for the once very promising little talent.
How heartbreaking.
